“PUTT BY THE NUMBERS” COVERS THE PHYSICS OF PUTTING

“Putt By The Numbers” is named after the first section of the book, the greens reading section. It is possible to read greens, or more accurately tell how a putted ball is going to react with just a few numbers.
 
To calculate how far a putt will roll you only have to know;
• THE STIMPMETER READING (NEGATIVE ACCELERATION)
• THE DISTANCE FROM THE BALL TO THE HOLE.
• THE ELEVATION DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BALL AND THE HOLE.

To calculate how much a ball is going to break you have to know;
• THE SLOPE IN DEGREES.
• THE TIME (SECONDS) THAT THE BALL IS ROLLING ON THAT SLOPE

A sturdy waterproof chart book is provided with stimpmeter readings from 7 to 14 in half foot readings to make the calculations much easier.
The second section consists of stand-alone articles explaining grain, how the ball falls in the hole, moment of inertia, center of percussion, etc. This can be read in any order. The last section addresses:
