Most putters have a 72 degree lie angle. This fits very few players. Better players vaguely know that their eyes should be over the ball. The only way to achieve this with a putter that doesn’t fit you is to get in an uncomfortable position somewhere else. A compromise ensues. Players that have a flat stroke tend toward shorter putters. Their non conscious mind leads them that way but they usually don’t know why. If you could adjust your height 72 degree lie angles would work. Most right handed players aim left. A forward press opens the putterface. Occasionally two wrongs do make a right but is not consistent and you have delofted the putter. A custom putter will place you in a comfortable position and when you learn to align it properly your stroke will take care of itself.

At MACS Custom Putting Systems our putterheads are made to meet the needs of a specific individual. We manufacture all the clubheads to precise tolerances and finishes, but do not drill the hole for the shaft until after each individual has been custom measured on a Laser Alignment Grid. We have developed several systems using laser and computer technology to measure each individual. The measurements calculated from this system are used to determine the exact angles that the putterhead is drilled to meet the exact needs of that individual.

We realized after making the putter that there is more to putting than just the putter itself. That is why we call this a system. Along with the putter there is also a laser that will attach to the clubhead. The laser is aimed at a targeting system that can be interfaced to a computer software system. The laser will measure point of aim and point of impact when you strike the ball.
This system gives you precise feed back on where you are impacting the ball making it the best practice tool money can buy. We have also published a complete book on the physics of putting so you can understand and dispel all myths that people have come to believe after all these years.
